Aircraft Valuation

Careful analysis of the market is essential to develop an accurate appraisal of an aircraft.  Our approach takes into consideration all available sources of transaction data.  We do not rely solely on quarterly publications to assess value.  Price books provide a fraction of the details necessary to accurately determine the value of an aircraft.  By the time a price book has been published it is obsolete, because it only shows the previous quarter’s results.  We do a comprehensive review of recent transactions specific to that model’s market.  We also have several sophisticated market analysis programs at our disposal, which provide an up-to-the-minute snapshot of the market.  An aircraft’s value in one quarter can change dramatically in the next. All key variables play a vital role in our tracking of aircraft markets and the accuracy of our Valuation and Trend Forecasting.

Marketing

Clay Lacy Aviation’s Aircraft Sales Team markets listed aircraft worldwide using print media, the Internet, and subscribed computer marketing programs.  Print media include World Aircraft Sales, Controller and Executive Controller, and Trade-A-Plane magazine.  In addition, we develop for each client an individualized sales brochure, featuring color photos of their aircraft’s exterior and interior, specifications and performance information, which is marketed directly to prospective purchasers.

Our working relationship with dealers and brokers throughout the world is an excellent one, maintained and strengthened through successful business relationships developed over the past thirty years.  This is invaluable to our clients, ensuring the maximum exposure for the sale of their aircraft.  We know who the reliable people are and we deal only with them.

Our Global Network includes:

Import/Export

We have extensive knowledge of the complex process involved with importing or exporting an aircraft to or from the United States, including a thorough understanding of the laws, regulatory organizations, and the cultural differences inherent in a global market.  Years of experience handling transactions on almost every continent have given us the necessary insight to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Consultation

Whether or not you are ready to make the investment in aircraft ownership, you can always take comfort in knowing that you can call us anytime to just chat about what you can expect. Purchasing an aircraft is not always the perfect solution to your travel needs.  Those needs might be best supported with certain combinations of available travel modes.  We can assist in the decision-making process and help you feel comfortable with all of your travel options.

When you are ready to commit to an aircraft purchase, we have all the right tools to provide an in-depth, comprehensive financial analysis that explains the cost of ownership from acquisition to sale, including monthly and yearly budgets, maintenance, direct operating costs, annual and hourly costs, and residual value.

Perhaps you are considering selling your aircraft but are not quite sure if the time is right.  We are here to bring you up to speed with your aircraft’s market, advise you on all of your options and offer strategies to successfully complete the sale.

1031 “Like Kind Exchange”—forward or reverse, Partnerships, LLC’s; these are not decisions we take lightly.  The tax and financial implications of buying, selling, or owning an aircraft and how a transaction is structured are serious and can be disastrous if not handled correctly.  We have the best tax advisors and exchange facilitators in our network standing by.
